Volunteers urged to ‘Share the Warmth’ in new energy saving campaign

Residents are being invited to learn some top energy saving tips and then ‘Share the Warmth’ with loved ones this winter through a new campaign led by Kent County Council (KCC).

Working with Ashford, Gravesham, Folkestone, Sevenoaks, Swale, Tonbridge and Malling, Thanet and Medway councils and the NHS, KCC is encouraging people to help others to save energy in their homes.

Participants will be invited to take part in an online programme made up of informative videos and a quiz to learn how to implement five important energy efficiency measures.

Those who take part will then be encouraged to #ShareTheWarmth with friends and family that may not be able to access this information or act on it themselves.

KCC’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Susan Carey, said: “Share the Warmth is a Kent-wide campaign to encourage people the share advice with their friends and family on how to save energy and stay warm at home.

“We know many households will face challenges with keeping warm this winter so if you know someone who is worried about their energy bills, join us in this important programme and #ShareTheWarmth.”
