Views sought on Tonbridge Road Pembury Cycle Route

Views are being sought on a new shared pedestrian and cycle route joining A21 Longfield Road junction at North Farm roundabout to Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

The route would then link into an existing pedestrian/cycle route to Tunbridge Wells town centre.

The route will link into Highways England’s “non-motorised user” route being constructed next to the A21 dualling scheme.

Kent County Council is currently running a public consultation on the scheme until Sunday, August 13.

The route will run along the existing verge on the west side of Tonbridge Road, joining the existing pedestrian/cycle route that runs between the traffic lights on Pembury Road and the hospital, to the similar new facility at the northern end of Tonbridge Road at the A21 junction.

A full set of proposal drawings can be seen here where there is also on online questionnaire to provide comments.

Anyone with questions can email traffic.schemes@kent.gov.uk or call 03000 418181, quoting ‘Tonbridge Road Pembury Proposed Pedestrian/Cycle Route’.
