Supporting Kent’s People

Kent County Council staff are working hard every day to support the people of Kent.

From the very young to the very old, people from all walks of life are supported by the council to lead their lives.

Finding apprenticeships for young people by matching them with suitable employers is one of the council’s roles. The county council helped 100 young people into an apprenticeship last year and aim to get another 100 placed this year. Since the scheme began more than 1000 young people have been helped into work.

Big Jam Studios is a music, video, photography, rehearsal and recording studio based in Sittingbourne Kent. Owner Kevin Thorpe took on Ricky Patel as an apprentice in 2014, this worked so well Ricky was taken on permanently in Feb this year. This is what they had to say about it.
