Pop up exhibition comes to Folkestone

“I am always happy to support young artists to have an opportunity to show their work locally” Hod Birkby

A valuable opportunity for young new artists to exhibit their work in a pop up gallery in Folkestone was made possible thanks to a £1,104 KCC Members Grant from Hod Birkby and Bob Neaves.

This is the second exhibition of its kind run by Threads, a local CIC based in Folkestone.

It was created out of a lack of realistic opportunities for visual artists living outside of London.

The project took place over three months in the summer and involved sculptures, moving image and video art.

Director of Threads Philippa Wall said: “The exhibition was well received by the community we hope will help to build a legacy by connecting the creative community in Folkestone”  .
