The Tunbridge Wells Household Waste and Recycling Centre will be temporarily closing on Monday (September 18).
Following a fire in the Transfer Station building, Kent County Council needs to close the site to complete works to the damaged infrastructure.
KCC is also taking the opportunity to undertake works to prolong the life of the Transfer Station by replacing the concrete floor and redesigning the drainage system.
The last day the site will be operating is Sunday, September 17 and is expected to be closed for approximately 10 weeks.
There will inevitably be delays at the Dunbrik HWRC as this is the nearest alternative site.
Members of the public are encouraged to minimise their use of the site during this period where possible as queues could be extensive.
Alternative sites can be found using the KCC website www.kent.gov.uk/recycling
KCC said it appreciates the local implications of the closure and asks that members of the public are understanding as once complete, the works will improve the site significantly.
