Brockhill Performing Arts College in Hythe have been able to install a new synthetic wicket strip thanks to being awarded £2,856 KCC Members Grant from Martin Whybrow.
Cricket has always been popular at the school but over the years the number of pupils participating in the sport has declined due to poor playing conditions.
Competitive matches have been cancelled making it difficult to engage pupils in the sport.

“The New Pitch will make such a difference and increase the number of pupils playing cricket, which will know will help improve behaviour and school engagement” Tom Knight Department Head
The new synthetic wicket strip will help reduce maintenance costs, can be stored away during the winter months and provides a consistent bounce which is a true reflection of playing on a good quality grass wicket.
Department Head Tom Knight said: “The New Pitch will make such a difference and increase the number of pupils playing cricket, which will know will help improve behaviour and school engagement.”
