New campaign highlights how Kent’s residents and businesses are protecting the environment

Residents, business owners and visitors to Kent are being invited to play their part in protecting and enhancing the local environment for future generations in a new campaign.

Kent County Council’s campaign, Kent Green Action, aims to connect people with nature and inspire everyone to take action to protect and improve their local environment.

One way people can do this is by saving the amount of energy they use at home, work and when they travel to help reduce carbon emissions.

Valuing and protecting the local environment not only protects the natural world but also has benefits for our health, wellbeing, and local economy, now and in the future.

Kent Green Action aims to engage with Kent’s residents and businesses through social media using animations, case study films, tips and advice about how to become more environmentally friendly.

Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Susan Carey, said: “We know Kent residents care about their environment and want to play their part in protecting it.

“The Kent Green Action campaign will share advice and case studies from here in Kent showing how individuals, businesses and communities can make a difference.”

Residents can visit www.kent.gov.uk/kentgreenaction and www.kent.gov.uk/saveenergy to find out how they can make a difference.

Businesses and organisations can visit www.locase.co.uk for more information on support available to them.
