Lyminge residents take cover under their new bus shelter

Lyminge residents can now take cover under a new bus shelter, thanks to an £8,000 KCC members grant from Susan Carey.

The old bus shelter had become tired and been vandalised over the years and, with the concrete base breaking up, the area was becoming a safety hazard for residents using it.

The grant has enabled Lyminge Parish Council to purchase a new wooden building which provides improved shelter from the weather for local residents, particularly the elderly.

The Parish Council has worked closely with Shepway District Council to install it and will ensure it is properly maintained and insured in the future.
