KCC extends 0% business loan scheme to Ashford’s small firms

Expansion East Kent welcomes Ashford businesses 

Dozens of small businesses in Ashford are set to benefit from 0% business loans of up to £50 thousand to help turn their dreams into reality.

Expansion East Kent is aimed at a wide range of businesses including those in the manufacturing and service sectors. So far more than £20 million has been made available to companies in other parts of East Kent, but now the scheme has been extended to Ashford.


“I am pleased to announce that all companies across Kent now have the same opportunities to apply for the RGF loan scheme,” says Jacqui Ward, Regional Growth Fund Manager at Kent County Council. “Expansion East Kent welcomes Ashford to the scheme and looks forward to receiving and awarding loans to companies in Ashford to create additional jobs.”

With continued funding coming forward from Central Government, Kent County Council and Ashford Borough Council to support growth within the towns’ economy, I would encourage local businesses to take up this wonderful opportunity.”

Expansion East Kent has developed a list of priority sectors based upon East Kent’s key strengths and growth prospects, these include: Scientific research and development; Manufacturing, especially in the development of the supply chain to support the renewable energy industry; Tourism and leisure businesses

Jacqui Ward will announce the extension of the scheme to include Ashford at a B2B event at the International Hotel in the town on Tuesday 8th July.

  • Kent County Council has three Regional Growth Fund programmes operating across Kent – Expansion East Kent, Tiger and Escalate.  Ashford was the only district not included in any of these programmes and KCC’s overall aim was to ensure all companies across Kent could benefit from the financial package offered by one of the Regional Growth Fund programmes.
