More than 350 members of the Army Cadet Force from across the country spent two weeks under canvas at a site near Folkestone – the first time the event has been held in Kent for several years.

Activities included tackling obstacle courses, lessons in military tactics, shooting, raft-building, archery and climbing.

A number of Italian cadets joined the Kent ACF members as part of an exchange programme between the two countries.

Among other visitors on VIPs day were the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Viscount de L’Isle and several Kent mayors.
