Youngsters took part in an enterprising course run by the Far Academy

Young people between the ages of 14 and 19 had the opportunity to design and build their own skateboards at a course run by the Far Academy in partnership with Canterbury Academy.

The course was made possible through KCC Members Grants funding from Paul Carter, Pam Brivio and Eileen Rowbotham.

This positive initiative raised confidence amongst participants as well as developing new skills in creativity, carpentry and business skills.

The teachers at Canterbury Academy commented on the enthusiasm that students showed throughout the course – the only complaint being that it could have lasted longer !
